Rahu is the north node of the Moon — not a physical planet but a mathematical point where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic. In Vedic astrology, Rahu represents obsession, illusion (Maya), foreign things, technology, unconventional thinking, and sudden upheaval.
Rahu amplifies whatever it touches. In a strong position (Gemini, Virgo, Taurus, or strong by conjunction), Rahu's Mahadasha can be extraordinarily productive. In a weak or afflicted position, it creates confusion, addiction, and scattered energy.
