Mangal Dosha
Mars placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house from Lagna, Moon, or Venus.
Mars's aggression, independence, and dominance energy is directed toward the house of marriage (7th) or longevity (8th). Can create friction, dominance conflicts, or intensity in partnerships. The 7th and 8th house placements are most significant.
Kaal Sarp Dosha
All 7 classical planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn) are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu — all on one side of the nodal axis.
Rahu and Ketu create a "serpent" that swallows the entire chart. This creates life themes of intense karma, obstacles followed by breakthroughs, and an all-or-nothing quality to major events. Often associated with past-life debts that are being resolved in this life.
Pitra Dosha
Several formations: Sun conjunct Rahu in the 9th house; 9th house or its lord afflicted by Rahu, Saturn, or Mars; Sun-Saturn conjunction; ancestors' unresolved karmas creating recurring family patterns.
Pitra Dosha indicates unresolved karma from ancestors — either actions they committed, desires left unfulfilled, or improper last rites. It manifests as recurring patterns in the family: health issues, financial instability, relationship problems, or childlessness that affects multiple generations.
Papasamaya Dosha
A house is hemmed between two malefic planets — one in the house before and one in the house after. The house between them is "squeezed" by malefic energy from both sides.
The hemmed house and its significations face persistent obstruction and difficulty. Papasamaya on the Lagna (1st house) affects health and self; on the 7th affects marriage; on the 2nd affects wealth; on the 4th affects domestic peace. The significations of that house face recurring challenges.
